Carolina Reserve Food & Wine Tour

The reserve wine tour is your gateway tour for the best wine in the Yadkin Valley. We have picked vineyards offering high quality bottles of wine that leand themselves to our gourmet menu. We rotate through our favorite vineyards and offer several distinct tour styles to appease most wine drinkers. This tour is available for private groups.

You can opt for the following style of tours:

• Progressive – Mix of wine styles that progress from rosé to white to red.
• White – All white style wines like Chardonnay, Viognier and Vermentino.
• Red – All red style wines like Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc & Chambourcin.
• Sparkling – Mix of sparkling and dry rosé style wines.

This tour features curated bottles of wine at 3 different vineyards along with a full tasting at the 4th. We also have thoughtfully created a tasting menu to accompany the wine at 3 of the vineyards. We rotate through our favorite vineyards and offer several distinct tour styles to appease most wine drinkers.

We estimate you will consume at least 5 glasses of wine throughout the day & each tour begins with a fun breakfast & wine pairing.

Here is a partial list of vineyards you may see on this tour. All tours will include up to 4 of these vineyards.

• Piccione – A boutique vineyard known for their Italian style wines and one of the best views in the Yadkin Valley. They dabble in Italian reds to a gorgrous sparkling rosé.
• Midnight Magdalena – A boutique vineyard smack in the middle of the valley, serves up some bold & delicious options. Their provence style rosé and newly bottled Petit Verdot are some of our favorites.
• Laurel Gray – One of NC’s oldest vineyards, Laurel Gray has some mouth watering wines, which win awards and lots of them. That’s why it’s one of our favorites and is included on this tour. If you haven’t had a barrel fermeted Chardonnay yet, this is the place to get one.
• Raffaldini – This is perhaps one of the Carolina’s prettiest vineyards, Raffaldini. They make excellent Italian wines and have been doing so since 2008.
• Brandon Hills – A small vineyard on less than 10 acres, they offer dry and sweeter style wines. We love a couple of their red wines that are settling themselves up as serious wine makers.
• Hanover Park – French style of winemaking set around a gorgrous restored 19th farmhouse. They grow and excel in red wines like Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc.
• RayLen -A large production vineyard on 50 acres featuring several award winning varietals and only 65 minutes from downtown Charlotte.
• Cellar 4201 – A boutique vineyard making limited production wines who excel in red varietals such as Sangiovese & Cabernet Sauvignon.
• Stoney Knoll – This 7th generation former tobacco farm makes some of the best Viognier (white) around. This is a great (relatively unknown) boutique vineyard open only Thursday to Saturday.
• Jones Von Drehle – Located in the upper Yadkin Valley AVA, this vineyard has some of the best bottles of wine around in our opinion. While we love most of their wines and are especially smitten with their Petit Verdot (red) and Petit Manseng (white).
• McRitchie – With Oregan wine making roots, this boutique vineyard produces a handful of amazing reds but also dips its toes into cider.
• Shelton – 90 minutes from Charlotte, Shelton has a littany of delicious wines. We prefer their Tannat, a French grape that packs a intense punch.
