NCWG Travels to Iceland

It seems kinda strange to do international trips that don't involve wine but Iceland respresents a special place in our hearts. It's the first country we started doing small group trips and to date, we have done 9 guided tours here. Join us in 2024 as we see one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

Trolls, Fairies & 24 Hours of Light...

Explore the land of trolls and fairies, where over 50% of the population still believes in them. This is an 8-day trip designed to give the explorer a great primer on the country. The trip will happen over Summer Solstice and we will take full advantage of 24 hours of light with a ton of excursions at night including visiting an abandoned swimming pool.

This trip will feature the best of Iceland’s urban landscapes as well as its natural ones. From days in Reykjavik exploring its culture & food scene to hiking steaming valleys and waterfalls, this trip will cross off many bucket list items. This trip is for active explorers who want to understand more about this country and who may possibly come back on their own in the future.

This trip is centered around 3 things: eating, swimming & doing. We want to focus on traditional Icelandic cuisine through farm visits and local cooking techniques. We want to swim in Iceland’s unique thermally heated pools & rivers. We want to see all the special nooks & crannies that Iceland offers such as its waterfalls, volcanoes, fjords, and glaciers through hikes and outdoor excursions. Here is a more detailed itinerary.

This trip will concentrate our time in the South and Southeastern areas of Iceland including a couple of days in the capital city of Reykjavik.

A lot of this trip, we will be in small remote towns and areas. This is the true part of Iceland.

Yes, once you have fully paid for your Iceland trip, a final itinerary will be sent several months before the trip begins.

If you have any questions about what might or might not be on the itinerary, please contact us.

We are omitting the Blue Lagoon in order to go to better and less crowded thermal pools. Personally, we have been to the BL more than 10 times and it’s getting too crowded and overpriced for the experience. There are so so many other cooler thermal pools we would like to share with you.

Of course, anyone who wants to go can still do so. There will be time built into our schedule to allow you to visit.

Yes, we love thermal pools so they are built into the itinerary when convenient.

Yes, our pricing is based on sharing a room. There are options to stay in a private room for a added cost.

We picked some fantastic hotels for this trip that really highlight Icelandic culture & beauty.

  1. Basalt Hotel
  2. Umi Hotel
  3. Eyja Guldsmeden in Reykjavik
